This week was all about feeling the love from those we love. First, we received some adorable gifts! Auntie Bridgett sent my sister some adorable clothes. I think she is so excited for her first niece. Auntie Bridge looks out for me because my mom couldn't find a way for me to be able to try on these clothes, they were just too tiny! Oh shucks. (Thanks lady)
Then, Auntie Nicole left us a special delivery on the porch one day. Sadly, mom found a way for me to wear this one. Go figure. (Don't worry dad, you just keep playin your CoD in the background while I get to try on girl clothes. One word...KARMA)
Mom and I agree that seeing all these cute clothes sure makes the arrival of my baby sister seem SO much more real! We both can't wait to see if she looks more like her or me.
This week was hopefully the end of all the snow. Mom and I still walk every day together, but it sure does take her a lot longer to get her butt in gear for us to go out. She wears two of everything. Two pants, two shirts, two socks, two hats. Seriously. Me, nothin. So you could see why she almost has a mental breakdown when she's all ready to leave and then has to go pee. (I mean, legit tantrum) So, just before the snow melts away my dad had something fun in mind. Build me a snowman! As he put it "every boy needs a snowman". Which I agree. I meant to tell him "every boy needs a normal snowman, not some weird 4-headed creature" but, who can fault the guy. Plus, he loves me so I just zip it. Here is me, my dad, and my snowman:
Then the real fun began when mom, dad, and grandpaw began my sisters room. The pretty furniture got delivered on Saturday and about 18 seconds later dad told mom to pick a paint color because he's buying paint today. Those that know my dad know how much he loves his movies and video games, so mom was shocked that he was so adamant about starting the nursery. So, painfully, she quickly picks paint just in time for my grandpaw to come out for a trip to the dreaded Home Depot. The paint picking went well, because this part involved mom. The choosing of the wood was a different story. (I think it's because mom wasn't involved in this decision). Dad and grandpaw sure had a lot of math to calculate to make sure things were just right. Here they are hard at work.... (the cart won't fill itself boys). What seemed like hours later, they finally come home with all their goodies and the painting begins! Well, that's the way my dad wanted it. Get paint, get a roller, paint. Grandpaw on the other hand is a man with a plan. So, after an hour of the man-planning, the painting begins! Dad thought it was a race. If it was, he won. Let the repainting begin the next day too!
What a good team. (Note- you won't actually see me pictured here because mom didn't want me near the paint fumes. She also took herself to get a massage in hopes of avoiding them too)
They made some great progress! That night my mom and dad kept talking about how thankful they were to have such a great handyman to help out with this project. The things dads will do for their daughters. I think a nice portrait of me would look quite lovely on this wall.
This week is just a snippet of how much mom, dad, and I feel the love from others. My Grammie got busy planning a baby shower for mom, my Aunt Amber bought out the girls clothing section at TJ Maxx, and my Grandma Myers got a spectacular delivery with my sisters bedding. One thing is for sure, this girl sure is spoiled already.
So, we had a fantastic week and are SO very thankful for our family and friends. I sure as heck was most thankful for my momma when she finally got home from work and freed me from being stuck A-L-L day long. For the second time.
-Love, Nelson
