The time is just going too fast!  I can't believe we are nearing the end of our single digit months!  I need to start out your 8 month post with the cutest picture of you and dad, your twin.  You think he is so funny and you've started working so hard at standing up!  Mom and I just love this.

During this month we, and by we I mean me, have been so lucky to get to play outside.  You've enjoyed this treat too by getting to swing for the first time!  Nanny Lisa sent mom this picture.  Can you guess her first thought...."OMG please don't touch the swing!"  But then she realized you were just having a great time and to let the germs go.

But that didn't stop her from having you wear gloves, I mean socks, on your next trip to swing.

To make this month even better...Grammie came to visit too!  You two were so cute playing.

We got dad to take some long walks with us.  Life doesn't get  much better little girl.

You even liked to park your stroller and watch me in action!  You sure are a keeper.

One thing you've grown to like this last month is eating food!  Your favorites are sweet potato, pear, and avocados.  We are learning that you really like to be in charge of feeding yourself, Miss Independent.  When you're in your high chair I get a little nervous because you seem to make so much noise and drop things ALL the time.  But, never fear, I am always around when I hear you're finished.

Someone has to clean you up.

We got to hang with our grandma's this month!  They sure are fun.

We even got a visit from Aunt Jodi.  She may be my favorite visitor because she brings treats in her purse...like an old lady with candy.

It was also nice of us to send mom, dad, and grammie out for a night on the town to celebrate gram's birthday.  I use the term "night" loosely because they left at 4:30 and were back by 7pm.  So-long party life.

You still love dancing to records and watching mom and Nanny Lisa's mad moves.

We can't wait to see what you have in store for us this next month.  One thing has happened over the three days it has taken me to write this....you outgrew your Rock-N-Play.  We never thought this day would come, and honestly, it probably came a LONG time ago.  So, you may be 2 years old before I write again, as the sleep in our house has been minimal since you and your crib met full-time.

Love you sister,
Nelson

It's a Beautiful Day in the Hood!

It's February and we are picnicing, what a treat for us both!  The good thing about mom not working full -time is she gets to take us on fun outtings.  Just last week she took us to "the hood" at Loose Park.  Man, oh man, was that a cultural experience for us both.  People dancing in the flowers, drummin on the sidewalks, hacky-sack races, and just plain weird kids.  Good thing you had your glam glasses to fit in.

Luckily you had your friend, Colton to hang out with.  Man were you two cute.  Colton flops and rolls all over, while you were a careful observer:)  You loved watching the kids play.  Mom said she was taking you to the park so you could swing.  Then she saw all the germy kids slobbering all over the swing, and she thought it best you just watch.  (I think I shall buy you a bubble for your 1st birthday).

"Wish I could swing" - Ho-Hum Charlotte

Since you had so much fun at the park, you thought it would be fun to have another play date!  Colton and Maya thought otherwise.

I only assumed you had fun because I removed myself from this loud and unpredictable scene and sat quietly upstairs.  There were some cries, but I think you did great.  One thing we notice about you, you sure just like to carefully watch people.  Maybe you'll be brilliant...and have sedentary desk job:)  I keep telling mom you'll crawl one of these days and then she'll look back at your non-mobile days and longingly miss them.  Good thing you're cute!

Love you sister,
Nelson

You're a Crack Up

Literally Charlotte, your CRACK goes UP your back.  You see, mom and dad alway joke that they knew a little bit about what you would look like: brown hair, green eyes, long face, big smile, and junk in the trunk.  Well, brown hair and big smile, yes.  You have beautiful blue eyes (at least for now).  You have the cutest round face.  But as far as junk in the trunk....I think the junk in your trunk is in the form of a crack because man, you are rockin that.

There are no butts about it, you are one cute kid.  You are a little slice of heaven for us all.  And just pray that high waisted pants are still in style during your teen years.

I love you sister,
Nelson
