Happy Birthday Pop!!

This year was pretty exciting for one of our favorite people....POP!!  He turned 60 years old!  Mom wanted to do something super special for him because he is just the best.  We had a big surprise party for him but what she really thought would be fun is surprising him for a fun trip.  He thought he had planned a couples trip to Branson, little did he know that mom had the idea to start with and you guys were going to go surprise him.  (Sure sound fun, thanks for the invite).

Off you guys went, thinking you'd nap on the car ride there.  False!  First time you've not taken a nap your whole life!.  Shockingly, you did great!  Mom said when you got there you went and knocked on the door and Pop answered, shocked to see the little 2 foot girl at the door.  He was THRILLED.

You spent the rest of the day playing by the water, skipping stones (or just throwing rocks in the lake), dad and Pop even took you on a paddle boat ride.

The next day was HUGE!  It was your first time ever going to a theme park, Silver Dollar City.  This was the most fun I think you may have ever had...for the most part.  Mom loved it because everyone loves to go on fast rides, except her.  So now she finally had someone to sit with while the crazies went roller coasting.  You actually got to see dad go on a GIANT coaster.  You still haven't quit talking about it.  They took you on a couple ride.  Clearly you're going to take after mom. One was a boat ride. It didn't even have a seat belt, that's how non-crazy it was.  You wouldn't know, because you kept your eyes closed the entire time.  You got to ride a merry-go-round, a train, and some toddler rides that definitely were not of interest to you.  I think it's safe to say you and mom will be good buddies at theme parks.

It seemed to have been a blast of trip.  Mom and dad enjoyed playing putt putt with you.  They played.  You took the ball right to the hole.  Genius.  You also went to a campfire and had some amores and won some Halloween goodies.  Luckily you still could squeeze into the pack-n-play, which you sure loved after a day of running at a park.  It was a marvelous trip...for you.  My staycation was horrible, you can ask mom about it some time.

Needless to say I was so happy to see you.  You guys are my favorite people so try not to leave too often.

Happy birthday Pop!!

Love you sister,
Nelson

Trick or Treat!

Everything has become more fun with you. Holiday's are for sure a blast!  Trick or treating was a hit this year...mostly.

You and mom dressed up as cats, since we will never have one.  I didn't get to dress up this year.  I guess I'm happy about that.  So we walked two cats around the neighborhood parade.  You LOVED wearing your costume!

We rehearsed what it would be like to go to people's porch, say "Trick or Treat!" and get a treat to put in your bucket.  It's the last part that really tripped you up.  Last year you could get the snickers, mom would give you raisins real fast, and boom you thought the day was great!  This year, you sure wised up to that trick!  You've learned your candies and what their wrappers are.  So when you got the candy, putting it in the bucket seemed like an awful idea.  Why not just eat it then?? No sense on wasting.  I totally get it.  But that caused for a few tears from you and a few anxiety-ridden moments for mom who could hardly stand to see you eat all the candy with all that dye.

We had a great time on a warm Halloween with Pop, Grandma, Grandpa Bob and MawMaw.  You are one lucky girl to be surrounded by so many people who love you.

Happy Halloween sister!

Love,
Nelson

Two Minutes

You've recently started to have the ability to tell time!  In the form of two-minutes.

Charlotte, the show is ending.  "No, two minutes"

When did you get to be such a big girl?! "Two minutes"

When do you think your Jammies will come in the mail? "two minutes"

Charlotte, please give mommy her phone "ok, two minutes"

The odd thing is, none of your time telling actually lasts 2 minutes.  I'm not sure if mom and dad have caught on yet, but it seems to be your way of saying 'thanks for your suggestion on ______ but I'm going to not listen and hope two minutes will buy me some more time'

.

It's a good thing you're so cute!

Love you sister,
Nelson

Here We Go Again!

Seems like we may have jumped ahead to some big news! Well, turns our mom and dad are going to give us a sibling...a brother!! Mom was shocked to learn about a new baby in July. Seems I have dropped the ball on that announcement. Luckily you and I made a cute photo to document the news. (Shocker)

Skip ahead a few months and the big day of learning what the baby will be is here! Mom and dad decided to not find out in the doctor office. It was Pops birthday so they colored the cupcakes and we al found out together. Mom clearly was shocked. And thrilled.

Blue it was!! Boy it is!! We are glad it's a boy, because we all agree we don't think another girl could measure up to you. So now we just need to think of a name. And make a baby room. And buy a whole new wardrobe of boy clothes. And learn how to change a boy diaper. But, at least we are 3 vs 2 now. Game on sister.

We can't wait to meet you little brother!
